Am I stupid

for nearly a year now i have been in love with a beautiful girl. she is one of my closest friends who i can talk t about anything. when we spend time together, we act like a couple and other people notice that we do. we evenacted like a couple when she was seeing someone. i got jealous over them few months but i got used to it. we spend a lot of time together and text each other a lot. i have told her how i feel but she says we can only be friends. my other friends thinl i am stupid for still pursuing her. i don`t know what to do anymore

you seem like a very nice guy. and i think that for every person, there is somebody specifically made for him/her. it is very unfortunate that the person who you think is the one for you does not feel the same way. have you tried asking her the reason why she only wants you to be friends? there could be so many things behind that "we can only be friends..." statement she gave. Don't pressure her into telling you, because the more you ask, you might risk driving her away. Sometimes phrasing words differently will make a big...well...difference in how a woman will respond. I can't and I don't seem so simple, but you know I can't swim is a matter of ability, I don't swim is a matter of will. Ask yourself, though, if there is a possibility that she might love you back the way you love her. From there, you can decide whether you want to wait until the right time comes that she would realize it herself, or start to move on. It is a hard situation to be in, to love somebody to the point that you are most willing to wait, but at the same time, you don't even know if you are actually waiting for something. For now, just continue to love her, be friends with her. Don't try to change who you are just to get her. It is not stupid to continue loving somebody, even if she does not love you. What is stupid is not trying to find out what you can do to win her love, and if there is a possibility of winning it. A girl will always have second thoughts. While some guys look straight, girls sometimes see so many angles. Try to find out which angle will work best for you, hopefully that would be the right angle. Remember, things might not work out the way you want them to work out, but you will be ok.
