I am in an unrequited love

I like this person for more than 5 years already. We used to talk but suddenly we just acted like we didn't know each other. We would exchange glances or smile and that's it. For messages, we only message each other during birthdays and yes that's every year. We don't miss any birthdays. I sometimes think he's showing me mixed signals or motives that makes me think he likes me back. I overthink most of his actions and stress about it. I act differently when he's around. I'm so tensed up And btw, we only see each other like once every 2 or months. He's a churchmate and I have many things to do and shouldn't do, that includes having a relationship with someone. I don't know what to do anymore. Any advice, anyone?? Thank you.

I'm a little confused. Did you mean you shouldn't have a relationship with someone, or you should? Either way, there's not much to this. You see one another once every eight weeks or so. If you OR he wanted to ramp this up, it would be simple enough to make arrangements to see one another more often. Neither of you have done that. I don't know why you haven't. Have you held back because the uncertainty is more palatable than making the suggestion and being rejected? No, as far as I can see, he's not interested. There are no 'mixed messages' in what you describe. You're cordial to one another as churchmates (which is nice) You text one another. Even pleasant smiles and greetings are just a normal part of interacting with churchmates.

I think you need to either confess your feelings or move on. The worst that could happen is he will reject you, and then you will learn the healing process and move on and find someone new. I honestly think its your best bet since it seems like you are just bottling everything in, people come and go, and who knows maybe he feels the same for you.
