I accidently hit a kid with marker pen. What to do now?

I am a teacher at a private today due to some mischief done by the this 10th class student I threw the marker pen at him with no intention of hitting him however unfortunately it hit him in middle of his nose. Now I feel really guilty about it since from the very start I don't like hitting kids. Now his parents are furious and also yelled a lot of things in the phone. I am not disappointed on that coz I know it completely my fault and apologize to them again and again for this mistake. however my guilt is not going anywhere and also I am worried that it might affect him and the school. What should I do.?

Firstly, the kid got hit by a marker. He'll get over it. I had a teacher throw an overhead projector at me in 8th grade lol. He missed, but I was being a jerk and had it coming. Secondly, you apologized. Nothing more you can do.

Yeah I was able to shake off the guilt however now his parents along with some other is accusing me of misbehaving toward kids. However, I never even once in life misbehaved anyone. So it was baffling for me to hear that. And I'm trying think that which action of mine actually they deemed as misbehavior.

It is entirely likely that this problematic kid is over exaggerating about things that happen at school. Likely looking to cause more issues. The truth will likely come out and his issues will be made public.

I really hope this matter comes to an end soon. It's really starting to affect my mental peace. Most of the parents of children in this school are like that. They dot on their children a lot which is obviously a good thing but they are blindly believing everything that their children tells them without even trying to listen to the other side. That kid is also starting to show a entirely different kind of attitude now. He completely believes that he didn't do anything wrong I just threw that marker on him without any cause(which was again wrong of of me) but still this kind of behavior is making me second guess everything before I even utter a word at class, as a teacher I don't think that's something I should do.

I think there was a teacher when I was young that threw a chalkboard eraser at a misbehaving child. Of course, erasers were just made out of felt, (or something like felt) and left the recipient with a 2 inch by four inch rectangle of chalk dust on his/her clothing. You don't say *why* you threw the marker, or why exactly you think *it wouldn't hit anything,* so your story has a few holes in it. Teachers should be modeling appropriate behavior. Getting hit with a marker isn't the end of the world, but it certainly (you might say) misses the mark as far as setting a good example for your students. You seem to be having a hard time at your teaching situation. Is this the right position for you?

I threw that marker on him in intention of just making him a realise to not do it again however his head was down and i threw it toward the floor just to across him but just in time he got up and it hit him instead. I know it's not a good example to set from the perspective of a teacher. That's the reason I apologize and is still guilty about it. And I vowed to never do it again whether knowingly or unknowingly. For now I don't really have a choice so I can't quit my position so I don't know. For now I decided to not get much involved with children except for the academics part.
