I don't know how to get rid of these symptoms

25M here. I am confused whether I have mucormycosis or OCD. I have a very low chance of mucormycosis because I cannot be alive for 2 years. Recently, I read somewhere about sensorimotor OCD and it's symptoms seems quite similar to mine. Maybe I am hypochondriac. My problem started since April-May 2021 after having covid. My symptoms looked like mucormycosis which made me so worried and also there was a trend of covid induced mucormycosis during that time.
It is difficult to explain my symptoms. These symptoms occur sometimes almost every day. I feel some sensations which comes on it's own and get panicked from it for some moment. Sometimes I feel like my breath passes very smoothly through my nostrils when I breath in, this makes me feel comfortable. Sometimes I feel like I am manually controlling my breathing pattern which is uncomfortable. Whenever I had to walk/go out for a longer time, my miserable feelings kicks in such as feeling of low consciousness (less frequently) and a reflex of regulating my breathing pattern. Reason why I fear to go out for long.
My lunch time (90% of the days) also gets disturbed due to these symptoms. During lunch time, I have a fear that I may not swallow well and also my that above mentioned symptom also kicks in (breath pass smoothly). Reason why I take long time to finish my lunch and my family members think I have low appetite. Sometimes I feel like I have less sensations in my body such as lungs, arms and legs.
I don't know how do I explain my situation to some physician. All these started due to my concerns about mucormycosis. I don't know how do I get rid of such symptoms.
Hi again, Eryengesh!
Thanks for the update. :)
How you tell your doctor is by/telling them you're unsure how to describe all that you're feeling - and then just show them your above post here.
What you describe sounds to me, very much like General Anxiety Disorder. Nightmare condition - very easily and rapidly treated-into-stopped. A lot of people who've had Omicrom have reported having or developing it. Yeah, now I know you had it - I really think everything you've been suffering has been a case of lingering or Long Covid. It fits with virtually everyone else's after-symptoms. (Have you looked into it online?)
Lily31 and I were comparing all the pre-, mid- and post-symptoms (I and friends in RL had Omicromn, as did she and her bf). Soon as I get a min, I'll try to find it for you. Otherwise, if you want to look yourself, it was Feb/March 2021 for me (the worst bout).
Bear with...
Sorry, omitted to say - her thread is called, Parents Split Up, and is still current on the board.
There was no omicron when I had covid. There were variants like delta and original. All this started since I became suspicious about mucormycosis.
Oh, yes there was mate. Maybe it didn't 'go viral' until it'd had already become viral literally (i.e. the victim numbers started to stack up), but, oh, yes there was. For example, I had my first bout of Covid when it was so-called 'still just over in China....December 2019. So what was that - Alpha or Delta? Who knows; I didn't go to the doctors, I prefer to self-heal. For the same reason, I didn't get vaccinated.
You reckon Delta? Then check this out:
"COVID-19-Associated Mucormycosis: An Opportunistic Fungal Infection. A Case Series and Review
A surge in COVID-19-associated mucormycosis cases has been observed during the second wave of COVID-19 in summer of 2021. Most cases were reported from India. The Delta variant (B.1.617.2) was the most common variant circulating at that time."
((NOTE: "the MOST COMMON", not, the only))"
Did you have Diabetes Mellitus at the time, with elevated levels of glucose in your blood? If not, you wouldn't be susceptible OR it'd be a mild version that couldn't advance. But even if you somehow do have Mucormycosis - with your youth on your side and no diabetes/elevated blood glucose, it'd be entirely treatable/manageable.
For the Nth time - will you please now go to your doctor's, PLEASE. If you can't get through on the phone or email - just turn up and insist on being seen by the next available doctor, telling them you heavily suspect Mucromycosis. Or go to your local hospital.
Just find out. You'll feel so much better for knowing where you stand.
PS: Have you looked into the physical symptoms of Anxiety (with or witout Depression) yet? The struggling to breathe naturally, overly consciously, is a main and very telling symptom. It can also be caused or exacerbated by another Anxiety symptom - Stomach Migraine (less common, less well-known form of Stress Migraine, but still a symptom).
