Is my husband normal?

My husband goes barefoot all the time even to go out, he also insists that our 2 sons Josh 13 and Tom 11 go barefoot when they are out. He gets annoyed if he sees them wearing shoes and/or socks They go to the park barefoot, the shops and scholl and put their shoes and socks on at the school gates. Is this normal? Thanks

Hi Alex, I don't think that there is any problem with your husband wanting to go barefoot all the time. Yes, it seems a little eccentric, but so what! To walk as nature intended can hardly be something people should find wierd, and in this day and age it is easy to stand out from the crowd by just doing something differently to everyone else. I personally feel that the kids should be able to choose what they want to do for themselves. I hope that other kids aren't making fun of Josh and Tom at school because of this though - maybe you should see what they think about it, just to check that they are comfortable with the situation. I guess many people go barefoot, and for different reasons. I read somewhere that people go hiking in the woods barefoot, and whilst you may think that you could end up cutting your feet up, it is said to be less risky than walking on the beach, and less abrasive than walking on the pavement.
