I have been with my boyfriend 3 years and he has bought me a ring. He says he wants to be with me forever and spend the rest of his life with me but doesn't want to get married. Why would this be?

you much be love him a lot to stay this long. the only way he will marry you if you move on. the ring it only to keep you around for what he want and need. he want to keep his door open!!!!
