I don't know what to think

my boyfriend of over a year spilt up with me on saturday because he wants to be his own person again, yet he is saying he still loves me? and yesterday he was having doubts saying he doesnt know what he wants and how he wants to be on his own but have me in his life, and today he told me that this was the end of us and how hes going forever and how i need to stop contacting him etc, why has he changed his mind all of a sudden? will he change it again? will he come back?
