My girlfriend is hurt because I will not have sex with her

I just broke up my relationship with my girlfriend. It was because she wanted sex, and I said I want to wait for that time in my life that is Right, not just to have sex. She thinks I hate her, far from the truth, this isn't easy to do. I really care for her but right has to take it's place first. I could use some support, as she feels that having sex makes a relationship better, and it is very important to her. It all is important to me but I was raised to respect sex or love making, and the person and myself. Thanks

i understand why you would hae wanted to finish with your g/f because it makes it easier for you to avoid the subject - for some women sex is about a physical connection to their partner and is a very special thing - she probably wants to feel special with you. if your not ready yet you should sit down and talk about it properly .. tell her its not right for you at the moment but that has no reflection on how you feel about her - when the time is right you'll know and if she respects you she'll wait untill your ready good luck x
