Unbelievable situation

i met my moms bf;s daughter the other month (they not related dont worry, there cool with it), we got on pretty well considering we never met b4, anyway nothing really happened although it could have done if there wasnt so much upset going on elsewere(things were tense allround) anyway now i find out that shes still quit hungup ova her ex, some say he would have her back some say he wont though im not sure what she wld doo!!! i havnt spoken to her since she went home and im not sure what im gonna do next time i see her nowing about this other fella. i feel like i should say somethign cuz we had a real close connection but i dont wanna make any one look like a fool, i just aint got a clue what im gonna do next time i see her any ideas/
