Dating advice!

hi, i really like this girl and we are really good friends, we have only known each other for at least 2 months as i met her in college. last night i went out with her and her friends and we were a (bit) tipsy so we were like holding onto each other and laughing i tried putting compliments in here and there and i was really enjoying myself, until we bumped into a group of navy boys and she got talking with one and ended up kissing him, i felt like crap after that and i still do. i just really want to ask her out but im the kind of person who is shy and not really appealing, and i dont want to ruin friendship either!! i just would like advice on how to approach her to ask her out as i never had a relationship before . thanks.....

what worked for me was to be her friend. be positive and helpful, and wait until she hugs you, or asks you to take her out. that way you know its her idea.
