Wife won't accept our gay son

Me and my wife have been married for 17 years and have 2 children. 1 boy and 1 girl. They are both 16 (twins) and we were all pretty close as a family, untill 3 days ago when our son came out. He came into our room quite late at night and said "mam, dad, im gay!" Of course, i was very acceptive (but shocked) and it really doesnt bother me. My wife on the otherhand, said nothing (she has gay and lesbian friends who she is very supportive of). When my son left and went to bed she turned to me and said, " i cant believe it, he was such a good kid. Why does he have to ruin it!?" And burst into tears. I was a little confused at this moment because like i said she has nothing against gays but wont accept our gay son? The next morning was really awkward because my son thought everyone was fine with it, yet i knew that his mam wasnt (she stayed in bed claiming she felt ill), so im not sure what i should do at the moment, do i tell him? Do i convince her its OK(p.s. i tried this already, it didnt work)? Or shall keep quite about it or what? Please help. Thanks for reading

she will accept it in time,you can console her that nothing has changed in their relationship,being gay is not bad,she needs time and your support
