Heavy heart

Hi I'm a newcomer, in my 40's, in a long term relationship. I was skinny & geeky from the age of 10 to 14 & longed to be beautiful, I blossomed & now everywhere I go people say I'm stunning The problem is that my partner says he loves me most, calls me sexy & lovely, fab figure etc but refers to some of his exes as beautiful, very stunning & never describes me as such. He even admitted others are better looking than me but he only wants me. I feel devastated, he says I'm being shallow but this hurts sooo much! Any advice would be greatly welcomed x

Missy, if he only wants to be with you and his actions back this up, then you have no worries. He may admit that some of his exs may have better looking etc but it's your 'inside' qualities which obviously have turned his head completely to you. Personal looks don't come into the equation, it's what's inside a person that counts. It's our complete 'aura', the entire package, that makes us so attractive to others.

Thanks...yes he defo loves me but when you love someone should you not see them as thee most beautiful? That's my opinion so I get to thinking did he love others more than me? But he's already said no I'm the love of his life....No I didn't ask - he constantly brags about them, sort of like how he was a hunk in his youth & managed to bag the most beautiful girls in the area, or world as he puts it. Even his Mum amd Gran say I'm a stunner, why doesnt he see it? Anyway, knowing I'm sensitive why would someone who cares say such things?

He's nearly 50 & on anti depressant medication....

SUSIEDQ is right...its nothing about you. He is just trying to pamper himself with old thoughts. Trying to reassure himself that even though age is catching up he was once a hunk. He is not even comparing you with them mentally. Do not keep comparing yourself to some old memories of some girls (memories can be hazy).
