Met this guy through matrimonial site

Hi, I am 28 and met a guy through a matrimonial site after talking to him over the phone since 3-4 months. He came from US to India to meet me but insisted to go to goa with him to make it memorable for both of us. We went there spent some time together then he came to delhi to see me off. Earlier he said he will meet my parents but when i asked him he wasn't completely ready i guess. We were quite compatible and happy when we met and he financed everything and treated me like a princess. He came back again after 15 days to meet me for a business trip. Now its 4-5 months since we met as I met with an accident. He asked me to make some professional changes in my career to suit job market in US. I am doing a certification which he financed and even give me pocket money as I am not working. I am not meeting other guys since I like him. I was shocked when I got to know he told me some other name and not his real name. Neither he shares his family pictures. He says he want me to be his life partner but asks me to tell my parents that I met him at my ex work place and know him since long. Also when I met him he looked bit mature as his age he told me is 29. He calls frequency has reduced as he says is busy in work but he promises me to come and meet me and see my parents this time. He says he will only discuss with his family after meeting my parents. Since this guy is talking about marriage the issue i have is not revealing complete details about himself and family. Is it a warning sign. I am confused and feel bad when I have to tell me parents that he will come but i don't know when.

Anu, you need to be very very careful when you are dating NRI's. The background check needs to be done thoroughly. Why is he not sharing his family details? Even told you a false name? Yes these are alarm bells. Don't decide for him in haste and when you tell your parents tell them the full story and not lies. If tomorrow anything happens to you, you will only find your parents by your side.

Thanks Shivangi.... You are absolutely right.... I will tell him I don't like to lie to my parents and I won't do it anymore. I also called in his college for background check but they asked for photocopy of his cerificates... What else I can do or tell him...

Does he have a social networking profile or a profile on linkedin may be? if he has may be you can get in touch with someone who knows him? May be you can ask for his passport under some pretext next time he comes to see you? How did you find out about his name?

He does not have his profile on any of the social networking sites as he says I don't have time for all this and I am not looking for a job either. He created his facebook profile once by fake name and checked my profile and then deleted it as he said I dont use it anymore. I got to know his real name when incidently I checked his name on his air ticket. He also said you come to US before marriage and tell your parents you have some official work so that we can get to know each other better. I didn't agree to that.

Another things is try google his real name, you might land up with his social or work profile. Its hard to believe a 29 yr old wouldn't have any profile on net! Good that you refused to go to US just like that believing him.

Hey Shivangi, I have gone through this website and its paid. When I tried paying through my card, its asking for billing zip and showing wrong name. I believe it can be used by people staying in US only. I doubt he told me right city where he is living in. Thanks Susidq.. I am trying to find out the same..

You have his phone no.? have you tried reverse lookup of his name with that?
