18 year old dating a 14 year old girl

Hey... I'm new here and i thought i would share my problem with you guys to know your opinion about it So I met this girl, who is 14 and 7 months old and i really liked her, i'm 18 year old but when she asked me about my age i told her i'm 15 year old ( i really look like a 15 year old ) so she gave me her number and we have been talking for a month. Now i don't know if i should take it to the next level. I really think it's not right but i just can't stop i really like her and i would never do anything that would hurt her. The question is should i tell her that i'm 18 ? i think she would hate me for lying to her and should i get my hopes up ? I mean can it workout between us ? I'm aware of the age difference and that we can't do anything sexual and i don't want to do anything sexual with her. But is there any chance for us to be together ? Thanks...

SusieDQ Is wrong on the matter you can't date anyone at 14 when you're at 18. The age of consent law only applies to sexual interaction. You could date a 2 months old toddler if you wish, as long as you didn't have any sort of sexual interaction with them. Starting out by lying about your age is probably going to be your downfall here. Lying at the start of friendship doesn't exactly make for positive impressions later down the line. Especially when entering a relationship when you're at your most vulnerable and trust and faith is a big thing. Trust is going to be majorly hit with this lie. Sooo, there is a chance you could get together? You probably want to admit this lie to her as soon as humanly possible. Keeping this up any longer, especially extending it into relationship territory is dangerous. Before making it go any further, she needs to know your true age. If she truly loves you that age won't stop her from pursuing you, however the lie could. But there is still a chance you can get with her. This lie has to come to light sooner to later. It can't be sustained forever, therefore eventually she's gonna find out or figure out or be told. It's best to get the lie out of the way as soon as possible. ALGRM straight away your first problem was lying. the one thing that screws up a woman's trust is lying to them. depending how long you've been dating you might still be able to save it. if you just tell her that your really like her and you was afraid if she knew your age she'd loose interest so you lied so she would give you a chance to show that you don't just want her for sexual interaction and that you do have a genuine attraction towards her. tell her your really sorry you lied and it was a selfish mistake that you wish you never did. then a lesson to learn is always tell the truth... whether you have done wrong there less likely to be pissed if they hear it from you rather than from someone else... sometimes in life you will get a dilemma where both decisions will hurt her.. you just have to choose the one that will hurt her less. best of luck :)
