Relationship - is this the end?

Default profile image
I've been dating my boyfriend for a year now. We're both only 19 and this is our first serious relationship. We started out great and, yes, I did genuinely love him for the majority of the time together and I still honestly care about him a lot and probably still love him. However, it just doesn't feel like it's in quite the same way. For the past few months it has just become an effort to make it work and it doesn't seem as smooth and easy as it once did. We fight quite often, and it causes me a lot of anxiety which I feel causes things like my uni work and emotional wellbeing to suffer. Furthermore, the longer we've dated, the clearer and clearer it has become that we are very different people and as much as I try I really don't see much potential in the future. I just wanted to know if it's normal to hit these points in a relationship and that the best thing to do is to keep trying? Or has the relationship run its course and maybe it's more fair on both of us to move on?
