Relationship problem

If i write my problem, it would sound like a very regular issue that almost everyone encounters in his/her life. But, I would still write it and I hope that i get some good help from beautiful souls on this site. I am in love with a guy from last 4 years, and we were in a relationship till last year. There were no issues with our love life. The guy is about 8-9 years elder to me and is getting married soon. We both wanted to marry each other but my first priority is my career. I am a very ambitious and practical woman. I am in my 20s but I don't want to get married, and his family is pressurizing him to get married soon. He even asked me that he can wait for me, but that's practically not possible. ( before you further come to any conclusions, let me make it clear that : I am in Indian and in India, 'marriage' as in institution is respected and you are expected to get married before you step in your 'thirties'.) Now, he is gone and we are no more in contact from last 2 months. I miss him terribly and I don't know how to get over it. Although I was prepared for this from long, but never had i known that this would be so difficult to cope up with. I need help. I need peace of mind. Thank you for reading this.
