Workplace attire issue.. Advice needed

Hey guys! Need some advice and opinions on this one, please! So where I work is a pretty relaxed atmosphere, with the dress code being pretty loose. Shirts need to have straps at least two fingers width, jeans are allowed, and t-shirts, hats, and flip flops are allowed on Fridays. I have a pretty small wardrobe from moving and my finances are pretty tight, but I still wear dress slacks, blouses, and dresses. With the current weather my dresses are more of the sweater type with leggings underneath, but I make sure that everything is covered up (plenty of comfort issues make me want to dress covered from head to toe). Since I've been hired my clothing choices for work haven't changed, and I feel I've always been the one wearing a bit more than others. I'm the only plus sized woman, and I'm the only girl that doesn't wear skinny jeans, boots, and some sweater type combo. Well today, I was approached and told that what I'm not wearing isn't good enough. Really, the wording was more of 'there are concerns that people aren't dressing or looking good enough. Starting tomorrow please wear jeans and some sort of blouse.' I was the only one approached about this. I wore dress slacks today with a collared polo shirt, a dress yesterday, and slacks with a ruffled shirt on Monday. All of my outfits were professional. I am more of the tomboy, and dress more masculine than any of the other girls. After the talk, I felt totally embarrased, and I couldn't get it out of my head the rest of the work day. I felt isolated. The words stung and made it hard to concentrate. I've looked over my outfits, and in regards to professional attire and the dress code, there is nothing wrong with them. When did jeans become more professional than dress slacks? I feel like I am being bullied to conform into matching the other girls. Wearing the clothes that they wear (while they are cute) would only make me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. What are your thoughts?

I don't know about the legalities regarding professional dresscode in your country and at your work specifically but I would want to take a look at that : they can not oblige you to conform to others or a certain dresscode unless stated in the work conditions - as for you being "plus sized" - who cares ? you dress as you feel comfortable : don't let yourself get bullied into conforming - either you just let it roll off your shoulders and concentrate on doing a good job or you might want at one point look for professional/legal/lawyer help/advice
