I have been in my current job for 7 months now and 3 months in I met a guy from another department and we clicked and got on really well. Since then we've spoken quite a lot, there's been a bit of flirting but never progressed into any more, it's was always low key and casual. We both like each other but due to working together we just never turned it into anything Out of the blue the other day, I noticed he had unfollowed me on Twitter, no biggie but I made a joke out of it the next time we spoke and then he replied saying 'yeah I know, I've decided to keep our relationship strictly business'. I asked him why and he hasn't answered. If we had been romantically or sexually involved then I could understand the comment, but since we haven't it kind of makes me feel like he's just woken up and decided he doesn't even want to be friends and I can't work out why. I also feel pretty awkward around him now because I thought we had turned into quite good friends, feelings aside. Can anyone understand why he might have done this? Or how I should handle it?

Hello there. I wouldn't read too much about him unfollowing you on twitter - there might be any reason for this. For example if he is looking for another job position and he doesn't want any colleagues to know (twitter is good for job searching / networking). Or maybe he just wants to keep it for family contact - I know someone who uses it just for that. Is there any chance you could ask him for a coffee inside work? Nothing heavy just pretty casual - a catch up. This could clear any awkwardness and you may get your friendship back on track. If he doesn't respond to that then you may have to cut your losses and just deal with him as purely a colleague. I wish you the best of luck xx

Uh he is married or involved, liked you and is attracted but decided to be faithful. You have nothing to do with it-move on.
