Feel helpless finding a job

Default profile image
After I graduated from college with a teaching degree, it took me 5 years to finally find a job because I was told their were 100 applicants for every job posting. I have worked at my current school for 3 years and have loved every minute of it. I am truly happy teaching. I found out a few months ago that the school district is closing down my school and I will have to find a new job. I have been looking for a job since I found out. I have went on one interview and have not been asked to interview anywhere else. I am currently competing with my own co-workers for every job opening. I am worried that it will take me another 5 years to find a job. I feel like a failure because I went to school to become a teacher and I kept trying to get a teaching position but failed until finally I landed a job. I am not sure what else I can do. I can find another non teaching job, but I don't think I would be happy doing anything else.

One thing for sure, you are definitEly not a failure and I want to applaud you for getting your degree and doing what you love as I am currently in school. Something will come you have to keep trying. There was a time I couldn't find work when I lost my job and rent was due soon. I stayed confident and positive that I would find a job an I did. You continue to search you seem so genuine and your love for teaching warms my heart. I have faith that you will find work before your school shut down.
