Best career choice

I came into my first year of college as a computer science major for video game design and development. However, during my second year of school I decided to switch to a communications major and get more involved with collegiate esports. I still have a passion for video games, and I have become very involved with what has been going on around campus. I am just unsure if I should gamble and go into esports management or if I should be more general with where I would work. The esports field is just a bit competitive due to not a ton of positions opening up.
Hi again! :)
Oh, so you have the same sort of problem. We should group you altogether, really, shouldn't we?
Anyhoo....(not reading ahead)...
Computer Science Major? Oooh, I say! Sounds like that one is your natural talent thus you didn't need the tutoring? Am I close?
Communications Major? Even better!
Esports? What the bleedin' 'Enry is esports? Wait up - I'll go oogle...
OH, OH, OHHHH! Is THAT what it's called! MY SON'S DOING THAT! No way - what were the chances!
YES - DO THAT. But, better yet - like my son is doing: do BOTH! One as work, during working hours, for the good of your career/C.V., the other in your spare time as part of your Fun Time (but earning money when your team wins a tournament)?
That's a very lucky problem to have, matey! :) But what IS all this Either-Or these days?
Stand up proudly and say - How's about I have ALL of it?
You do need bloody good communications skills whilst 'on the battlefield', too, don't you.
What do you mean 'be more general with work', though? Do you mean, be Freelance and get to work at/sample many different places and industries? I did that. FAN-TTTAS-tic experience, it was! You do have to be good at swimming ("sink or swim"), though, because as a freelancer you'll frequently be thrown in the deep end, e.g. covering for someone on sick leave or something. Can you think fast on your feet?
Hey again USF,
Have you got your Alerts turned on?
Jetae has replied to you, as well, look:

(Nice one! *thumbs-up*)
I say do both! What could be the harm in that? Challenge your yourself, but make sure you have something to fall back on. I always encourage people to do what they enjoy and love because anything else will have you feeling like life is just a boring routine. If you're good at gaming, this may be the best decision for you but don't just totally throw the other thing out the window either. Make them both work together and make it work for you. If you work hard enough, you'll succeed. Follow your passion.
