Slightly usual start

ok, so. Met this great guy while i was on active service tour of Afghanistan. We are both in the Army and for the last 2 and a half months of our tours we had each other to keep each other company and the time went by a lot quicker than i ever thought. As we were out there alcohol was not a factor, and we really got to know each other. I came home a week before him and contact was great. Even when he got back into the UK comms where great. We have met up a few times for "dates" and i can really see myself falling for him. He likes taking things slow and i think im falling for him hard. As you can imagine as its been 3 months. He says its like we'r "dating". so surely i should be really happy shouldn't i? but recently hes been a lot quieter and i feel like im trying so much harder. Because wer taking this slow im not sure how guys act. ive been single for so so long i am so out of touch of the "dating game" if he wanted to end things surely he would have said by now? or should i ride it?
