I told him not to propose

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 to 4 years. Last christmas I was suppose to go to his parents in another state and I know they were planning something for me so that he could propose. I decided a week before we were suppose to leave that I really wanted to move to So Cal sooner then I was planning to move. I've always told him I wanted to live in So Cal which is about 9 hours away, I've got a great opportunity to quit my job and move down there and go to school and work at a job that yes pays less but is alot better work/life balance. He on the other hand doesn't want to go to school to get a job that will make as much as he's making where we are now. He doesn't have a degree and works at a warehouse. He doesn't feel he can find a job that will pay as much in SoCal. I don't want him to move and be miserable. He says that he'd move, just not anytime soon. I told him if he wasn't going to try to figure out a plan for us that he shouldn't propose. He ended up going to see his parents by himself and we called off the whole proposal. We actually broke up for the month if December. We recently got back together in mid January and now I don't think he wants to marry me or work towards getting know that level. I really do love him, I want to marry him. I really messed things up I admit it, but how do I get him to fall back in love with me again and love me as much as he used to?

Thats a difficult trade off between career and love. In the long term, which do you think would make you happiest? If its love, then tell him your decision. If not . . . then enjoy having the career and life you really want without anyone holding you back. This has to be sorted out first in order to move on for both of you.
