I'm not sure if he will leave me

My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 and a half years and have been living together for a year. We have an almost perfect relationship other than a little bickering now and then. Recently we keep arguing about the same thing. He gets mad at me for not cleaning very well. I try to tidy up but I don't do a good job with deep cleaning. I just turned 21 so I have been out a lot. Wednesday I went out for a coworkers birthday and I though my boyfriend was going to come, but he didn't. The next day he yelled at me again for not cleaning and we have a dog that's not fixed sao he pees everywhere. He blamed the house smelling like dog on me. He always assures me that no matter how mad he gets he is not going to leave me and he is known for getting super dramatic about things but this time I feel is different. He hasn't talked to me since he yelled at me and he sent me a long email telling me that he won't be around very much for a few days. He will still be here but don't expect much from him. I don't know what to do! And I am not ready for this heartbreak. I don't understand how you can go from being perfectly happy, to not talking at all.
