Why won't he have sex??

Me and my partner have been dating for about 13 months and he dosen't want to have sex with me, he tells me it's because of a previous bad relationship and he dosen't want to ruin this realationship but i know for certain he is a virgin as we used to be really good friends before we started having feelings for each other. I know he is defentley not gay i have asked him that and he tells me he loves me and i love him so much much i just hope that we can have a future together. I can't mention it to him again as i have already about 3 times and he says i have told you it's because of a relationship and he dosen't feel ready, he's also not very touchy feely towards me. I really don't know what to do as i really don't want us to break up, it would really kill me.

Hi Amy, have you got to the mutual foreplay stage in your relationship yet? Sounds like he is finding it difficult to deal with the contact thing, and the jump from no foreplay, to full on sex could be too big a jump for him if this is the case. I guess you should be pleased in one respect, that he isn't just with you for sex, and that he actually wants to spent time with you for other reasons than just sex. When you are spending time together, perhaps the actual timing and places you are at, when you would think of having sex, are not in keeping with his idea of when the situation / circumstances would be right to initiate sex (sorry to sound so technical). Anyway, so long as he keeps telling you he loves you, and showing this in none sexual ways, you should probably hang on for a while longer before thinking about splitting over the issue. As per your own words, this would really hurt you.

How do you know that he really loves you, and that you really love him? You were just friends before dating, so do you not think that your minds could be clouded by this? Some people who go from friends to lovers actually end up in a right mess, with the friendship often being completely destroyed after a breakup. I'm sure you know what is best for both of you, so listen to what your heart is telling you.

Thanks for your response, i have given him foreplay but he won\'t touch me anywhere from the waist down but is happy to touch my breasts, and i\'m always coming on to him he never does to me so i start by kissing his neck and i start to touch him but as i said he won\'t touch me waist down. I don\'t want to mention it again because he will just say he has told me his reasons and it will put more pressure on him if he isn\'t ready yet.
